ahhh, so former RX7 owner?
s2ki member My R1 was planning on a PFS 20B swap on his RX7 - never went through with it because PFS ripped him off. anyway, if im going with an engine swap, why not go all out with an R26B 4-rotor?

to my face everytime I go for a drive. I want to wait for a while before I mod the car more than it already is, though. I want to take it to the track to learn the high speed handling and power delivery better and also autocross it a bit to learn more about the transitional handling.
Once I have a baseline and decide if I want to compete in C Stock autocross class or not I'll decide what direction to go with the car.

That's pretty major surgery, though, so I think I'll stick to either NA or a turbo and then work on getting the suspension just right.
The Koni's and stock springs at all 4 corners do okay for now in the handling department, though...
289 is the same block as the 302
which can be stroked to 354
for GOBS of torque. but your handling will be pretty much shot at that point, I think you'll have 78/22 weight distribution....
alex - yes former rx owner. The rx I owned the longest was actually a second gen. that's the one that I fiddled the most with. But the two are quite similar. That suspension is almost the same, just some geometry tweaks (actually it's even on the new rx8!!!) What works on one works on the other (in theory, of course there is a lot that is different, but the principles are the same) It's a great and unique car. With some fine mods it can easily hang with porsche GT's and Ferrari's and such. It is simply a monster. The samurai of the import cars.
And yes, I highly recomment the 4-rotor
but I want a ride in it!!!!!!

i'd imagine. the ford 289 is pretty hardcore. a mild turbo would do wonders for a car as light as a miata...
and yes, koni's on a miata... the car handles on rails already, i can only imagine what it can do with aftermarket suspension.
