Actually...it's been all but officially confirmed that the thing falling into the water was a piece of a satellite.

The splash was far too small to be a 200 foot tall monster.
So the creature couldn't have grown to be a 200' monster? Ever watch an "Alien" movie?

Seriously? Have you seen The Blair Witch Project?
haha, yep, I saw it... but still, there's no other movies out in the theatres right now like Cloverfield, still think it was worth seeing. Yeah, the camera work has the same concept behind it, a character filming a documentary, but other than that, there's not much similarity in the two movies at all. I actually thought Blair Witch was kind of boring, atleast Cloverfield kept my attention.

Ok so I am seriously late to the party but I LOVED it.

Yes, it borrows from a jillion other movies. Yes, it has the shakey cam.
Yes, its only 84 minutes and predictable.

But the visual effects were great and the sound effects are awesome.

I am kind of glad I did not see it in the theater because the first 20 minutes were making me woozy. All the party scenes. But when it gets going the camera settles down a bit.

Turned the sub way up and it shook the whole room. If you turn off your brain a little this is a fun movie.

And good god, were those two girls goregeous.
