We just finally saw HAMNET this afternoon. It has been making the award ceremony rounds, and deservedly so.

A slow burn start that- if you don't know the movie's concept- takes time to come around. I'm pretty sure English teachers the world over, will be showing this to their class as they analyze Hamlet.

So by the last 30 minutes of the movie, expect the powerful message to be delivered- and it is an emotional one. Very well acted, incredible scenery. The child actors are excellent and memorable. This is not an action movie...it's quiet and contemplative.

HAMNET is a strong Oscar contender. For the movie buff, it's well worth the watch.
I give it an 8/10 overall.
