Inception...
Two theories:
1. He states that in a dream, you never quite remember how you got to where you are. In the ending sequence, you see how he got home. He woke up on the plane, went through the airport and then went home. You never quite know how long he has been away and since most of the movie is spent in dreams, time is hard to judge.
2. Apparently he is wearing a wedding ring sometimes. Whether he is wearing it in the dream sequences or in the "real world," I am unsure of but I will be watching it again to see how this one holds up.
EDIT: actually, with the first one, how he gets from Limbo to the plane is unknown. Saito and him just "wake up." So the first could be debunked.

the most consistent explanation of the "its all a dream" theory.

answers a few nagging thoughts i had, like saito's idea that doing his job would bring him back to his kids, seemed too easily placed. and the other idea of fischer's being your own man thought was planted more subtlety but i like it.
ariadne is a greek goddess of the labyrinth btw.

Yeah, I kinda agree with you after reading all the conspiracy theories.
The movie wasn't THAT hard to interpret...if you want something ambiguous, watch, "The Fountain" and chew it over for the next month or so.

That movies was a complete mind fuck!! I loved it. Was really bored in the beginning trying to put all the pieces together, but I figured it out. Also, I called that the old man was Saito after the train ride.
It reminded me a lot of Inside Man and Deja Vu where it's like "Wtf is going on?!" and leaves you guessing 'till the end. What a great movie!!

The whole movie is a dream. He's in a deep comatose state. His wife is at his side trying to get him to come back. She's the one working to plant an inception... to get him to wake. The other characters are projections of his own sub conscience.
In the obvious dreams the top spins perfectly without any wobble. In the final scene, the top began to wobble, which we all know is the beginning of the tumble. More food for thought, the hands when they are on the train track.
The whole point of this movie is to plant an idea - the final scene does just that with the audience - just a thread to pull on and build out your own theory - its amazing.
This movie is definitely going into the movie library - so few movies have such good exposition and dialogue any more.
