Default The Introduction to Driving the Dragon - Friday

Is this your first trip to the Dragon? Has it been a few years since you've been here? If you answered "Yes" to either of these questions, then this is the drive for you!

Join us Friday morning for the First-timers Drive, where you'll be introduced (or re-acclimated) to the type of driving this event is all about. We'll meet up in the parking lot in front of the Wildwood Grill at 8:00 am for a brief driver's meeting. There you will meet fellow first-timers and pick up a few tips & hints to keep you safe and help you have a good time. We'll leave at 8:15 am to begin on Hellbender. We'll start at a mild pace as we warm up our cars, tires, and nerves on our way towards Deal's Gap. We'll then traverse the world-famous Tail of the Dragon in a glorious group of purpose-built sports cars doing what their engineers designed them to do. After we've conquered the beast, we will stop off at the gravel (paved) lot to take a break and a picture or two. You'll have plenty of time to get back and join the 'Fridays are for Franklin' drive.

Be sure to check the whiteboard in the lodge to stay up-to-date on any changes to the schedule that may arise.

Post a message in this thread to sign up and begin the adventure!

You are signed up (and because you're in John's group, you can just hang with him and do the Franklin drive as well. Cafe REL is a great lunch place.

Great! Can't wait. I drove the Dragon for the first time two weeks ago, completely stock car. Just got coilovers and sway bars and I really want to try the new setup on the curves.

See you soon.
