Yeah that video is fake.. those people have a website but I can't think of what it is.

What xupthree means is that it is every conservative's wet dream to be able to confront a criminal with their own personal arsenal of firearms under the protection of trespassing or self-defense. Every conservative gets a bulge in their pants every time they think about it. That's why every thread that has ever mentioned a gun in FL s2ki has turned into a "lets show off all our huge gun collections to the internet" pissing contest! You know it's true

That is all

^^^^ I get it

Can a liberal have conservative tendancies?

Is having the ability to protect yourself a conservative trait?

There has to be some residue of logical thought here about wanting or needing to be able to defend yourself in the situation laid out in that video. I mean, of course the cops should have been involved well before it got to the end game in that video but what if you are presented with aggressive behavior like that with armed combatants???

I know this is going to spiral out of control very quickly so I am going to lay out all my talking points now and then just read the replies:

Gun control is being able to hit the target you are aiming at

Guns dont kill people...people kill people

If you outlaw guns then only outlaws will have guns.

Any discussion about the second amendment deserves its own thread so I will leave that one alone.

Correction:

Guns don't kill people, bullets do.

I am just pointing out the pure, unadulterated sadism that sweeps over conservatives when talking about protecting themselves from criminals. The delight of it is what the OP is alluding to. This is not a 2nd amendment thread. No, Rob, the ability to protect yourself is not a conservative trait, that is taking it in the wrong direction. That is not where we want to go

bullets dont kill people either. people still kill people

A loaded gun can sit for a thousand years and never do anything to anyone.

there is a slight chance that if a loaded gun gets wisked up by a hurricane wind and falls on the floor it may discharge, killing someone or a bullet could be heated by a fire to eventually discharge and kill little tommy passing by on his bike but either of those happening is highly unlikely

my statment is (for most intents and purposes) beyond reproach....LOL

that explains my point more than i could have myself.

as far as librals with conservative tendancies?

personaly i kinda like guns to certian extent. but PERSONALLY i dont think tou should be able to carry a gun arround, it will only escilate a situation and end up much messier than it would have normally. however i do belive it would be fine to own guns if they were kept safe at a club or something of that nature.

I also personally belive that this would be a more than fair law given that the 2nd ammendment does not give "individuals" the right to bare arms but rather a well regulated malitia.

(sorry for spelling errors, no firefox spell check at work haha)

And your law degree is from where? This is a well argued point that constitutional lawyers have been discussing for years. There are very few people on this forum that at are qualified to argue the point.
