I think you and I view "protection" in a completely different light. I don't find the necessity to keep a gun in my house indefinitely in the very slight chance my house will be broken into while I am there. Or if someone pulls a gun on me for money, or for whatever other reason. If it's gonna happen - so be it.

And I'm sorry but you can run away from rocks or sticks or swords. And a group of people can stop or fight against a man with said weapons. But with a gun you are powerless. I believe this is why many gun owners are so steadfast in their support for them. Power, and fear.

I believe it was Socrates who said "You can judge a man's fear of the future by the size of his gun collection."

have you ever been jumped or robbed?

I would have to bet you have not

the rocks and sticks analogy is sound:

when the world had only rocks and sticks, everyone had them. During the time of rocks, swords, arrows, cannons...whatever you could not "out run" them either. the perpetrators would eventually get you. Guns are just the newest form of whatever weapon of the time.

If you walked around the corner in ancient rome or during caveman times, and a roman or caveman had a sword or rock to harm you and you did not have either, you were just as powerless

next....
So does this mean you will happily walk the earth, day by day, strapped like an action hero, just in case you are to one day be jumped or robbed?

Sounds like fear at its finest.

next....
