For all the conservative nuts in here
Gun control is not about guns; it's about control.
If guns are outlawed, can we use swords?
If guns cause crime, then pencils cause misspelled words.
Free men do not ask permission to bear arms.
The United States Constitution

I also personally belive that this would be a more than fair law given that the 2nd ammendment does not give "individuals" the right to bare arms but rather a well regulated malitia.
A 'militia' is compromised of individuals, which are known as 'people'.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

bullets dont kill people either. people still kill people
A loaded gun can sit for a thousand years and never do anything to anyone.
there is a slight chance that if a loaded gun gets wisked up by a hurricane wind and falls on the floor it may discharge, killing someone or a bullet could be heated by a fire to eventually discharge and kill little tommy passing by on his bike but either of those happening is highly unlikely
my statment is (for most intents and purposes) beyond reproach....LOL

This is NOT a 'chicken or the egg' analogy folks. People with an agenda to impede personal liberties (with excessive force or threat of it) of others are the issue. The ability to retaliate in defense is a right.
When a fire breaks out in your house or car ... would you rather have a fully charged extinguisher ... or just wait for the fire truck?
I don't believe in rehabilitating a flame either ... once it has jeopardized my life.
Unfortunately this is a circumstance that is hard to portray unless you've been in an actual situation. So ... i hope that everyone is able to avoid this kind of situation. But, if you do happen upon someone who wishes you 'ill' for their own personal reasons ... good luck in responding with a clear conscience and being able to live with the aftermath. Trust me ... there is NOTHING 'heroic' about it
If everybody wore guns (like in the old west days) there would be much less crime.
The "wild west" is a result of sensationalism and that is why we have a distorted view of that era. Sure there were more instances of shoot outs and stuff like that in the "wild west" but that is because they were towns situated on the very edge of the frontier and during those times bandits and criminals fled to those areas because of the lack of population and real established law and lawmen.
A criminal in an environment of "everybody probably is or could be armed" would have to seriously reconsider whether or not he was going to enter into a crime against anyone he came in contact with.
Today, with most of the population not armed, afraid to be armed, and not trained to deal with situations even if they were armed, the criminal almost has a free market to prey on whoever they want, whenever they want with little to no concern for retaliation.
If the populous armed themselves, became responsible in the use of those arms and prepared themselves, there would considerable drops in the occurrence of crimes.
Even back in the gunslinger days people could not just go around shooting each other either. They had to prove to the judge they were brought before that it was a justifiable shooting.
Just because we appear to have more civility than say even 100 years ago, don

OH...... and to complete your mental picture of my stability: The earth has about 4 billion too many people on it to function properly with our current attitude towards religon, politics, possession, and entitlement so let the killing begin
LOL

with power comes responsibility....just like gramps said to Peter Parker
what are you going to do, ban everything that can kill somebody if used for nefarious purposes?
Just leave it up to your government and hope they protect you
when seconds count, the cops are only minutes away
