I think it is all connected to a bad radio wiring job. As soon as possible take it to a good stereo shop and have them fix it. Loose wires grounding out!

i checked that but its fine, there's a lot of after market wires, like the radio, satellite radio, and for a passport but to be 100% honest, im not really sure what im doing, speedy is gonna let me borrow his electrical handbook so maybe that will give me a better clue. its done it again once since then, when i was pulling into a spot at one of the meet. the car wanted to stall because of it.

I've had a speaker-wire in the door come loose and then short out on the inner door panel. I'm not sure if that would find it's way back up to the wiring for the steering ... but, i'd sure check.

The power steering is more sensitive to electrical issues than most other cars because it is powered by an electric motor (not a belt-driven system).

One way to help diagnose it is to pull the fuses for all your 'non-essential' electrical equipment and drive it for a while to see if it still occurs.
