Sounds like a mythbusters episode to me. Let's have a tank test next time someone replaces a fuel sending unit. Thought I'd be a lil crazy. Take it from a bone head that's run empty in another vehicle, when the idiot light glows, PANIC!!!!! Still never buy CITGO no matter what.

With my original engine, I had been able to push it out to 28 mpg. It took driving 2K miles on a lower miles, used engine to crack the 26 mpg mark...and I almost hit 27. I am fairly sure that since my new engine had been sitting in a crate for 2 years that I had to re-break in the thing in.

As far as range goes, I have pushed the new engine to 300, and that is the most miles I have put on one tank in my S2000....I usually fill up shortly after it gets under a half of a tank.

I have personaly seen 265 miles from a tank. Jpanese cars have very un-optomistic low fuel warning lights. Next time I get to E, I will reset my trip meter and see how far I can go. In my old car I used to do this and observed a maximum of 50 miles (mostly hwy) before she started "caughing".

I get an average of 300 on a tank..... And I do like to push it as far as I can before I get the gas!!! Just lazy in the cold weather really.
