is it possible to powdercoat my oem lugs? i want blue lugs but the rays lugs are tapered and from what i read the oem lugs are acorn shape and they have problems keeping them torqued down. so is that possible without completely breaking the coat when they are torqued? and if so doug i'll buy the powder and give you the excess if we can experiment.

edit: the rays have problems staying torqued, not the oem

You can... but... I would be afraid that they would scar very easily when removing/changing the tire. Just my $.02

ya i agree mike. i don't take my wheels off too often so i might want to give my rims a deep clean and then powder them. and i guess if they scar i can peel them and reapply the powder.

Another noob question...

Is it ok to put clearcoat over the baked powder?

Say the calipers as an example. Powdercoat then add a couple s2k stickers then a couple coats of clear. Or that just a bad idea?
Clearcoat will not hold up to the heat temps of the brakes.

Lets give it a try. I already have blue powder. I think we should tape off the hex section, just paint the top and any other nooks we can get to.

Pretty much any day that is not terribly cold. I prefer a weekend but a weekday is possible. I will PM my number.
