Hello,

I am thinking about buying either a Passport 8500 or a Valentine 1 for my 2003 Silverstone located downtown. Does anyone have any experieces with either of these radar detectors in the Metro Atlanta area? I know they are worthless against jamming laser, do the cops around here use laser or more radar?

From what I have seen on the interstates, I frequently see cops:

In the Weekday AM on 85-N at North Druid Hills
In the Weekday Am on 75-N at Windy Hill
On the Weekend anytime on Holcomb Bridge Road at Chattahoochee River.

Can anyone offer insights on the radar detectors, police detection methods, and cop locations? Also some suggestions on a good shop to have one of these hardwired?

2 years ago I scored a ticket for 85 in a 55 outside the ATL airport. (construction zone with no work being done) The cop had me on radar and laser. I'm shopping for a laser jammer to compliment my V1 now.

one of the members on our board has the laser jammer and v1. he's feedback was very positive last time i spoke with him.

also, i have passport8500. don't do it unless your working on a budget. if that extra $100 won't hurt, go with the v1.
