Rick's Windscreen
Marilyn,
Haven't seen you since our fateful meeting on Barrett Pkwy. How have you been? I hope well we have missed you at the last couple of meets and hope to see you soon. Go luck with the wind screen. I have the stock screen, it seems to work OK.
Talk to you soon
Wade

John - I have the AEM, it's about 200 on Group Buy.
To make it a true CAI, you will have to cut some of the splash shield - it's truly nothing big and certainly you can pick up the replacement through a salvage yard cheap I would think. I can help you with the install.
Or, if anyone would care for me to install their CAI, they can come over to my garage and watch - takes about 2 hours - $50.
If you havent had a chance to feel one.. do so. Well worth the clams.

Thanks for the info Patch. I may take you up on your offer to help with the install. Between you, my son, and I, we should be able to get it installed easy enough. The next hurdle will be convincing my wife that this is a worthy investment. She is pretty much against anything that makes the car "louder". This one is going to be a hard sell.
As for the windscreen, I have to agree with S2KDude and Silvercomet. The reason I bought a convertible was to experience the open air. This car is the closest thing to a motorcycle and having the wind blowing around just seems appropriate.

I have Rick's screen. Does a great job blocking the wind, which I like cause it helps keep the contact lenses from drying out so fast. At speeds over 59 mph, the damn thing drives me crazy with a rattle though. Have tried regluing at Rick's suggestion with no better results. I put it down to eliminate the rattle most of the time now, but at speeds over 75 or so, the wind pushes it back up.
Taking this thing apart is no easy task after the first time and I won't do it again. After seeing someone mention that Rick had screwed his together at the frame, that will be my next attempt. Had contemplated it, but did not want to ruin the darn thing at my expense and be worse off. If this does not work I will look at other alternatives. Have hesitated to do it cause the others don't offer the ability to put the screen down without physically removing it.

Hey Wade ...
I've been swamped with work. Current contract has me running back and forth to Dalton on a daily basis. And, no, I'm not piling the miles on the S.
I'm hoping to make it to some of the drives ... I'd love to do the waterfall one coming up, but I'll just be getting back from a driving vacation up thru the Carolinas. Some time soon, though.
btw, I think I'm going to forego the windscreen. I think I'll apply the $$ elsewhere.
Take care.
