[QUOTE=Insert Name,May 26 2007, 03:33 PM] Yes, but it also up converts standard dvd's and ps/ps2 games as well. I tried it out with Matrix last night and also with Cars (just wanted to see what animation looked like) for a comparison.

Matrix Ultimate arrived today!
As did disc 1 of Planet Earth (Netflix).

Now to drag my other two speakers back out... (no place to mount them for regular viewing, so they come out for special movie-watching fun)

Oh and Cars on the A2 = might as well be HD
I cheaped out and only bought the complete trilogy. Planet Earth: complete set and Pirates should be here mid-week.

I talked to Ryan(Liquice) at the autox today. I asked him if he thought the audio level was a little low on the Matrix. He agreed that he had to bump up the volume for the film. It wasn't as bad as The Last Samurai, but noticeably lower than normal.

Because I have an old Denon receiver, I'm using HDMI for video and optical for audio.

As much as I want that Matrix collection, I refuse to let the studios double-dip my pockets. If I have the DVD, I won't buy the HD version. I'm glad more studios are doing same day-date release for all formats now.

NOW SHOWING THIS WEEK: Apocalypto (BR), Letter from Iwo (BR), and Flag of Our Fathers (HD-DVD).
