Default Track guys

So I plan on starting to track my car in 2010. In no way do I think I have what it takes to take on a turn at the limit yet. I will start slow. Especially with the S hitting around 400whp soon. i dont want to go nuts and destroy my car on my first turn.

Anyways, with all responsibility in mind. I would like to ask for your advice on what should I get and what I need to start autocrossing and working my way to HPDE events.

Current Mods:
ACT Clutch
Fidanza Flywheel
Vortech Supercharger w/ aftercooler (soon to be 12.5lb pulley)
Koni Yellows w/ Skunk 2 springs
TE37 TA editions
Advan Neova AD07 (current) Nitto NT05 (future)
Bride Digo Seat
Nardi Steering wheel
Counter Sunk Knob
OEM Hardtop
Mishimoto Radiator
Fan shroud Kit
Thermostat
Fanswitch
Hoses

Buying Next Month:
Slotted rotors
Roll Bar/cage
Helmet (once I get home)

I think this should cover it. Any thing else would be appreciated. And any advice to getting started would also be so very appreciated. I am trying to get the NASA rules and regs but the internet wont download stuff out here. (cant even watch youtube!)

TIA

All you need for autoX is a helmet and to start showing up and get some seat time. You will probably be in SM2 (possibly BSP?). Start learning about car control.

For the track you need a real roll bar, 5 or 6 point harness and FIA seats. Forget the slotted rotors just get blanks and get a decent set of real brake pads (try something like Carbotech XP10 pads front and XP 8 rear). You will probably want to duct the front rotors.

Your car will do much better at both autoX and track with a decent alignment. Get as much front neg camber as you can (~ -2 with zero toe) and start with about -2.5 in the rear with some toe in.

Helmet should be at the top of the list, not the bottom.

Otherwise like Pete said, that's all you need for autocross.

For the track, think safety and consumables over more go-fast parts. Tires, pads, rotors, and the actual seat time costs add up quickly over a season.

Spend money on making the car safe first. Then Reliable. go fast stuff is last.

Fresh and good tires.

Fresh brake pads, fresh Hi-Temp brake fluid. really good bleeding.

Change Diff and Trans fluid.

Thank you. I made my car into the generic magazine car first. And now that I actually want to race it, I dont have even a helmet. HA.

Well, I never thought of something like high temp brake fluid. Thanks.
