Thumbs up Installation Help?

Just wanted to ask if anyone was up for letting me use some tools and help install my coilovers when they get in. Or just let me use some tools. Also ordered the half shaft spacers and wanted to install those too, they are the T1R ones so all i need to do is loosen the half shafts to install them. Well any help would be great. Thanks.

You don't need many tools for the coilovers. 10mm, 14mm (deep), and 17mm socket, and a ratchet, and extension, and another 17mm wrench to hold the bolt while you tighten the nut. I think it's 17mm....could be 19mm. It would help to have another person cuz you'll probably have to push up or down on the rotors to get it to line up. Unfortunately I won't be able to physically help you because I am really busy with school.

Well, I've never installed coilovers on a S2K, but I'll help you if you get desperate enough. I've got the tools and a house with a garage.

I would like to get some practice on yours, so perhaps, I can do mine at a later date.

You know, the car's already low in stock form. My jack barely fits underneath the car. How low are you planning to go?

I'm an option if you need it. Cheers.

WTF are "half-shaft" spacers? What's it for? This should tell you what you're in for.

avallach thanks for the offer, probably will take you up on it too. Ive installed coilovers before on my prelude, just not on my s2k, so it shouldnt be too different. the half-shaft spacers are for when you lower the car, think only ap1, it corrects the angle of how the drive shafts, or half-shafts, align in the differential as far as i know. someone correct me if im wrong. It all should be in next week sometime, think latest was around tuesday. So whenever you are willing or have time, I can adjust my busy schedule, said that extremely sarcasticly. Also Im not planning on slamming it, just want it probably around .5" to 1" above the tire for now because I dont know if my rear tires will rub.

Installing the coilovers are pretty easy. I've done it a few times. The hardest part will be accessing the driver's rear top strut nuts. The gas line is in the way, so you need the extension, and you'll have to push the accordian looking thing hard to the side. A 6in extension will work perfectly.

It's gotta be on a weekend. Cool, I've taken apart my 5th Gen Prelude about a 1/2 dozen times, too. There's a wirite-up here. I'll be studying it a bit.

I'll PM you my cell later... I need to sleep. Long, Long week.
