Thinking about getting something new/starting a new project; a FD RX7.
I've had two rx7's offered for trade for my car but I really don't know that it would be an equal trade. I need help placing a value on my car although I know that vehicle value is partially opinionated. I'm not meaning value at a dealer stand point but as in someone looking for an already built car.

Pros
Has cold AC
Timing chain replaced
Oil pump replaced
Well maintained, all major work done at Import Dynamics w/ receipts.
New thermostat 500 miles ago.
OEM Head gasket and valve job 1,000 miles ago.
Bottom end inspected, no damage to rod bearings and no play in the rods.
All oil relocation lines replaced 3000 miles ago to thicker higher flowing lines.
New alternator and starter 5000 miles ago.

Cons
Basically all that is wrong with the car is the body and aesthetics.
Needs a better paint job. Pinch welds are fairly scraped up, quarter panel damage, red engine bay and trunk.
Passenger door doesn't open from outside. It is gutted besides the door handle, window, speaker and side mirror. I have the parts however.
Chance customs quoted me 300. Import Dynamics quoted me the same.
Fenders are pulled however noticeably damaged from retarded wheel fitment. Rear fenders are actually okay though.
My top was cut on new years day. Two slashes near the plastic window (both sides near quarter panel) and on top in the very middle they cut a large hole.
The two slashes have been sewn and the hole has been patched. NO leaks. A new softop and you're better off though.
AP2 taillights but hack job by previous owner. Can't tell with the trunk liner on.
Driver rear LCA is bent. Replaced the entire knuckle and hub assembly and was shipped a bent lower arm from a member here.

Maybe u should pay your debts (like those green wheels you didn't pay my friend yet) instead of trying to price out your car or trade for a rx7.

If you don't have money to soup up a s2k, what makes you think you can afford to soup up a rx7. i guess if your gonna just ripp off Mazda guys too then, thats your steeze.

Ever thought theres a reason im selling my car? Im pretty sure I stated that im getting cash. As for Byron, we speak and are on decent terms. Easy for you to talk when you don't even know the reasons. Let me see you pay for your mom's flight to CCSB and then pay what insurance doesnt cover. I explained to him.
I actually havent blocked him ive deleted my facebook so I wouldnt have to explain my personal situation to people like you.
If you have a personal drama with me then say so, if youre going to be an addition to someone elses drama then step out.

Edit: some people make more money than others, at my current salary I have a hard time with debt when there is a financial emergency.

Although some of it is truth. I do owe Byron but he's aware the situation and has been generous about it.
Conflict of money management was an issue as I told him, and thats irresponsibility on my side. But your blowing it largely out without collecting all your facts. Ive cleared the other debt youre talking about too.

I dont see the word SELL at all in your first post. It only says TRADE FOR A RX7...

What i Do also know is that you offered him more $ than his asking price and told him oh I'll pay you a certain date. There was promise to pay my friend a certain date, that date has passed. he has no rims or no money from you.

From what it looks like, you purposely offered more $ knowing the fact that you wouldn't pay on that date you promised and busted the avoids.

I understand there are family emergencies that happen and im sorry BUT life stuff does happen.

No you can not afford to soup up your car with your current salary or normal situations because life stuff like financial emergencies happen and you SHOULD plan for it.

Byron is a great guy and i hate when people take advantage of him, and you clearly have.

If it was just a stock s2 with wheels, id just say whatever but clearly the car is fully built, turbo kit,, stand alone ecu, bride seat, tuned from Seth. You have all that but can't pay back byron. get the fuq out of here.

Oops. Didn't put down my actual intention. Regardless Byron is kept updated and is aware of what is going on. Remaining on speakable terms as he is being extremely patient.

Yeah I empty my paycheck everytime so I obviously wasn't prepared.

The car was fully built before I owed Byron, he wanted to race me before he crashed.
I actually do make enough, but only when my car isnt dead. 22/hour is fairly decent at my age.

Mmm and yeah I take back using my mom as an excuse because I should've had something saved. And it's bad enough as it is, I don't want my subconscious to blame me not paying byron on my mom.

I guess its fair to call me shady to a point. Although as it stands me and byron have open communication and also feel free to ask whoever else I owe if I still owe them.
I offered him a larger amount for a specific reason of I couldn't pay at that very moment and that's exactly what we discussed. I would pay him my next paycheck after my car leaves Sonics. However ever so lucky me! Brand new BC valves decides it wants to be defective and break in my head. Also made byron aware of the other reason I had to pay him at my next paycheck was that I had to pay my bench warrant for racing. -_- he is a very understanding person as I said, we still speak now.
You can continue to be upset with me, I don't know you and you don't know me so it really doesn't bother me.
I simply asked what my car is worth so I would have an idea of how much cash I would ask him to add vs the value of his RX7. You didn't exactly answer my question but you've made me appreciate Byron's patience and understanding a lot more. Excuse you, I make enough. If you've ever read the book a series of unfortunate events; that is slightly what I've been running into as of late.
That is my most recent full paycheck in march.
A shop that shall remain un named did a "head gasket" and blew my head completely upon start up, in which I had to pay for a replacement and the machine shop bill and then take it to Sonics to clean up their mess. That's where all of my savings went.
At the end after sonics finished my car the first time is when I came in contact with Byron about the wheels because I was supposed to be working full time again as my car has been finished but missing wheels as I had sold them to pay Sonics.

 

time to lock this up. ed, i'd say your best bet is to part out to make the most money. get a stock daily and mod another car. gl!
