Hey, my soft top is looking pretty dirty since i never use the proper cleaning chemicals to wash the top. I was wondering which cleaning substance is the best for our s2k tops that is sold locally and which auto store do people buy them from?

i use 303 for the soft top, tires, and moldings.

 

I use raggtop, you can get it from Hawaii truck concepts in waipio or Pakshak on S.I.A. road behind aloha power equipment. It includes a cleaner and protectant, excellent product.

 

when i got our ST changed out to a robbins unit, the installer said to just use water. then mild car wash soap if necessary. he advised against chemicals. his explanation was that the top had built in protectant, and that constant washing with soap/chemicals would degrade this.

so i just use water, then mild car wash, when necessary. no problems here.


edit: we changed out the top because someone slashed it, not because it wore out or deteriorated.

 

i bought the raggtop cleaner online. got raped on shipping. if i knew someone sold it here, i woulda bought it here. BUt more stores carry the 303 protectant, i will use that when i run out.

 

yeah gotta watch out for shipping. HTC and PakShak seem to stock all the common stuff that the detailing websites stock.

 

i just wanted the best for my S. I went for the lowest shipping which was more than half of the kit themselves.
