Default Buying a s2000 soon!

Hello!
I am trying to sell my current vehicle (07 Vw GTI) to buy a s2000.
I'm looking to get around 14,500 for my car, so it looks like i am going to be getting an Ap1 s2k with around 60k miles on it.
Do you guys have any advise for a first time buyer of a s2000?
I have already test drove a s2000, and i am in love. But i am not sure what i should be specifically looking for. Anything will help, thanks!

Welcome!!

Good luck with your search...an ap1 with 60k miles should run you about $11.5-12.5k.

I would save for a little longer that way u can buy something a little newer less miles. I mean its still going to be a great car at 60k. I mean i bought my evo at 63k on it and it lasted me till 93k and i drove that car hard the S2000 is the same way it has a very good motor from what i have seen. But just my opinion save up a little more buy something with a little less miles that way u can keep it that much longer. Best of luck the S2000 is the funnest car i have ever had

For $14.5K, you can definately get an AP1 with ~<30K miles or an AP2 with >50K miles.

I know a guy who is selling a 2001 S2000 (red w/black interior) with only 6,000 miles on the clock. I'm doing some research about the car before I actually go see it.

He's asking $17,000 ... but got very little interest. I figure he might go for $16,000. Remember, I'm in the Albany area of New York ... not exactly a cheap place to live.

Is this a good deal? What are the disadvantages of a 2001 rather than a newer S2K?

Thanks
