New S2000 convert here - from German to S2K...
Welcome David. I post a lot on Bimmerforums too, and I've had a couple BMWs (e90 and e46 325 cab.) and after getting my boxster, I've fallen for porsche!
So I know exactly how you feel. I'm a BMW junkie too.
Have fun with your new car

So Bavarian.........you love BMWs and now love your new Porsche.....but what I don't understand is what exactly you are doing on an S2K board. Maybe you can shine some light on that for me.
You don't learn much from getting one or two perspectives. You learn by gaining as many perspectives as you can, and then forming conclusions from that. I like to read what s2k owners have to say about BMWs and porsches, as much as I like to read what miata owners have to say about s2ks.
I'm also a member on miata.net, bimmerforums.com, mbworld.com, 986forums.com, car-forums.com, and one I forgot, elisetalk.com
I don't wanna clutter this guy's topic, though...and I already made this too long.
EDIT: Just joined my350z.com
David A, I am a now into my forth week of owning an sc 04 sk2. Definitely one of the most fun cars I have ever driven. By the way, I was enticed into a freeway race by a BMW the very first day I was driving to a meeting. Bravarian Motorist responded and can fill you in on the details I described on the tread called my first two days of owning a s2k. Bravarian Motorist appears to be quite an expert on BMW and was adept at explaining the possible reason behind my sk2 whacking the bmw on the freeway. I slowed down when I viewed my digital read out at 137 mph. Not a bright idea but the Bmw driver was glued to my rear end and I could not resist. I hope you enjoy your s2k. I love mine and so does everyone else that gets to view my license plate from behind! Welcome to a great club full of enthusiasts that, for the most part, are very helpful and tend to provide a high level of expertise in response to issues raised by fellow s2ki members.
