It would be a great time to shoot some undercoating into some of the normally inaccessible areas, before putting everything back together.

So figured now would be as good of time as any to actually get around to repairing my seats. Funny I can take apart a 200k mile car and find no rust except the seat pans... whole lot of ass sweat in its days.

I used:
  • Spray Contact Adheasive
  • Expandable Foam
  • 7mm Neoprene Foam for support

bolster is flat and collapsed

pan rusty

pan painted

flat bolster realigned and glued with CA

Holes ready to be filled

tape applied to keep the shape while foam is expanding, you want exess to come out the holes, not expand the bolster

trimming the foam with a saw

shape the foam with a file

put a layer of Neoprene on the inside bolster(cut to shape didnt take picture but you can see it wedged in

The first few are the bolster results. The rest are just a log if my leathers condition, as I am repairing/dying later this week to recondition the quality

So out of the booth, wet sanded and polished. My wife thought it was funny I had to sit and stand to see where I was going

I took care of some much needed attention that was bugging me. Yes I think this car was painted before, It needed some improvement. As a whole before the accident it was maybe 95%. Here's some examples.

Cracking Seam Sealer - been here since purchase

The Car previously painted, used a hard edge taping method in the jamb

seam sealer ground out and resealed, jambs roll taped and blended

the rear bumper, from the passenger aide reverse light to the quarter did not match, you can see the hardtop I sprayed in October matches the quarter. This was the only section of car that didnt paint match when purchased

Resprayed.

The door ready to be transplanted

Fender Temporarily Hung

Tomorrow I'll install the Walboro255 fuel pump. Reinstalling the rear moulding was an absolute bitch.

I started from the rear working forward:
  • Antenna, Rear Deck Plastics, Rear Bumper, and Tail Lights
  • Rear Roof Moulding, Soft Top Drains & Gutter, Soft Top Assembly, Gussets, Roll Hoops, Glovebox & Center console

Next I'll probably:
  • Install JS2K LEDs as I reassemble
  • Transplant the door
  • Remove Fender and Hang Door
  • Adjust door, Window Sashes & Stops, and Window alignment
  • Put Mirror, Inner Door Card, and Outer Kick Panel(where door harness hides) back on
  • Install Modifry Side Marker Modules
  • Install Fender(just hanging as door goes on first) and adjust door/hood spacing.
  • Hang Headlight Support and Body
  • Hang Front Bumper & Lip Spoiler
  • Install Front Bumper and Fender Emblems
  • Install Strakes
Which will leave me with the rear of the soft top open to do the fuel pump. Since I won't be installing the seats for a few days, as I have to restore the leather and wait for them to cure, I'm going to leave the interior where its at so I can do a few things while things are accessible
