Good thought. Good weather today so I will clean the seat belts and treat the top. This is Iowa so this may be the only day I have left for a while. I am hoping to just have to drop restored seats in and be ready to go in the spring.
Pretty cool. I like it with just S2000 because a lot of people don't even realize this little car is a Honda. I like it when people don't know what it is. Kind of like when I had a 1987 Buick Regal Turbo T with the turbo emblems removed from the hood bulge. That baby surprised many drivers.
I don't have one identifying H badge anywhere on the car. It is fun to watch people circle the car in a parking lot 2-3 times or hear their reaction when I tell them what it is.
When I first got the car I replaced the blown paper oem d speakers with some dxi651s 6.5" Coax I had laying around powered off the factory head unit . As well I had some db461s 4x6" Coaxial I wanted to install as rears, and a DB104 10" sub.
I'm an audio quality guy, not so much a blaring noise guy. I also enjoy listening to the S pur. Basically there are days I wamt to just listen to tunes and go on a nice drive in a convertible, and days I just wanna take some windy roads.
Anyway, figured since all the cones were laying around I could put some time into giving myself an alternative driving enjoyment. Still some work to do but figured Id share some progress.
just need to finish the grill mesh covers
-Need to finish the mesh covers for the rears
-Cut and Carpet an amp rack to be installed into the same factory bolts a Radium Surge Tank would fit, to hold an Alpine MRV-V500 5 Channel
-Finish Wiring
-Enjoy full sound at low volumes eith the top down cruising
Someone posted a thread yesterday which got deleted, not sure why. But I had been shopping for Fender protectors, and had not put my eyes on one I thought suitable yet. However, the deleted thread, showed me what I was looking for. Honda Tool Number# 07ZAZ-S2AA000 . Here is the link to it on Majestic, if anyone wants.
Well I finally did the passenger seat, got the rest of the grommets for the door screws I was waiting on from honda. Just in time to pull the hardtop on a nice day for a cruise
Any updates with ongoing improvements and restoration? I kind of miss checking out this thread for ideas.
Hey there Steve. I don't have any updates that I'd consider worthy of posting as its just been parts collecting in a pile upstairs.
I have been busy with other projects
- Weeding and planting the flowerbeds that looked terrible
- Started digging a moat to fill with drainage stone to get the organics off the slab foundation and make it easier to spray for bugs
- Dethatched, aerated and seeded
- filled all the low spots in the lawn with soil im pulling from rock trenches, and lawn rollsd so I dont scalp the lawn with the mower
- Built a home gym
- serviced my electric Skateboards for the season to take me another 7-9k miles ill ride this warm season.
- S is getting driven on non rainy days for spirited joy rides
Nice work. I assume you aren't hauling landscaping materials in your S2000.
I do have to start on some yard projects soon. In my part of Iowa we are just getting into decent weather. I have just had my Honda out since last week due to a late start to spring. Had to wait for snow to melt and a few rain showers to clean up the streets.
