But at the same time, I just passed my 3 year ownership mark, and the time away without reading has really let me keep my head focused, and driving the S to understand what I really want out of it. So I've got a few things planned. We'll see what comes out of it.
I pulled the edge of the carpet up before cutting to see if I have the holes on my 01. I don't. So I searched the site and alot of people just lay them on. So that's what I did, I even tried to make them slip, but they're not going anywhere.
I picked up some AP2 door cards and was planning to put the tops of mine without tweeter holes and make a franekcard. But Honda changed all the dam mounting holes by a little over half an inch between the three prices(upper, mid leather, and bottom) so frankencards aren't happening without custom work.
I'll be running the VADM1 sub amp at 2Ω series dual voice coil 320W(, and the VADM2 at 4Ω 150W x2. However the 2 channel is likely to have a several if not double digits decibel cut on the gain, as that's just too much wattage for this tiny car! But the form factor of the amp is what I am after. The overhead will surely produce very clean sound through the RMS range of the speakers.
So I need to start pulling the soft top deck and rear up so I can access this area behind the fuel pump(behind the neck and pump hump) to tuck them in all hidden, as well as not loose the spare tire!
So that will be a fun weekend project. As I need to start making a loop harness to plug into the factory wiring and head unit. Yay!
Read through this entire thread and I just want to say thanks for the inspiration, @Deckoz !
Your work is absolutely amazing and attention to details is unparalleled. I love these types of reconditioning threads, glad to see the S2K aging enough to warrant these types of restorations and even better to see them in the hands of people like you. Thanks for posting the progress, looking forward to more updates.
(and thanks for working hard to make your paint match, unlike some others. The things I would give to get a "cheap" S2K and rebuild it right versus making it look even worse, lol)
