Playing Catch-up: 2001 maintenance
I have been wanting to clean the underside of my 02 for some time. I wish I could find a place to get it up on a lift to do some cleaning. But, I guess I just have to bite the bullet and get it up on stands as high as I can get it and still be safe. My undercarriage is in very good shape. But, I did slip a bit pouring oil in the engine once and a little bit ran down the back/side of the engine and it needs to be cleaned. I won't go to the extend of claybar etc., but, a spray bottle of degreaser, some light brush agitation, and rinse should do wonders. Mine sees very little rain - only when I get caught which is rare.

It was either this or a new garage door this year and the door won.
Sooooo hooked on this thread. Amazing work. I bought a 2003 S2000 with 99k miles because I was tired of having garage queens that don't get driven, but have been gradually restoring it like you. I am concentrating on making it a budget build. Hunting eBay and the forums for used parts is half the fun, keep up the great work. I'm subscribed
Boggling at the paint commentary.
Curious how much you think you have in the car now after hard top and paint. Your original purchase price was great and I am thinking you are still doing well with a top shelf, sorted car.

But how do you get the color to match the old paint on the rest of the body? Is it just a thickness thing? Or do you have to change the base coat color a bit to match? Maybe spray test strips until you get the mix right?

There is an episode of JDM Legends where Mauricio explains how to do this. He was asked to match a new quarter panel to aged white. He did a LOT of mixing and test spraying. This guy is a magician with a sprayer.
I don't think deckoz will have much to worry about since the original paint has likely been cut and buffed and appears to be in great shape. Some colors are easier to hit the mark than others. I wouldn't want to tackle matching aged silverstone.

could you post a picture of that terry towel cover installed on the seat?
