Any good 06 lease deals? Something like 2000-3000 down and 299 a month for 3 years?

so.. is that legit? or am i gonna look like a jackass when i ask for it at the dealer

im in the market for a new 06 s2k GPW but dont know what a good OTD price is
Asking the OTD prices on this site is meaningless as the taxes, title, and registration fees vary so much form state to state. What you want to know is the price of the car relative to MSRP, inlcuding destitnation. Then add your local fees to get OTD.

Obvsiously you did not read this thread or you would have already found all the data you need to know what is or is not a good price. Go do your homework.

I think average prices OTD are around 33k - 33.5k, except for the few who somehow were able to get 31k-32k OTD. My best price i've received so far is $30,990, OTD would be $33,299 which falls into about average of what people have posted in this thread. But im thinking since its an 06 and 07 are coming in and the Summer season ending I could maybe knock the price down some more. That is what im trying now with the dealers in my area.

Honda pricing explained, using MY06 S2000 for example.

MSRP: 34050
Freight: 550 (595 for cars shipped after August 1, 2006)
Total: 34600 (34645)

Holdback: 34050 x 3% = 1021.50

Invoice as we know on the Internet: 30643 without freight

Now, the typical salesperson gets paid for the amount he/she 'holds' over invoice. With the factory incentive, the true invoice would be:
30643 - 750 = 29893 Remember this is WITHOUT freight.

Any price over that, your salesperson would be happy to get his/her 17% to 25% commissions. But if you want to be a hard bargain and make your salesperson's day a living nightmare, this is the price you should aim for:

29893 - 1021.50 (holdback) = 28871.50 (without freight)

The $28,871.50 figure is what dealerships call "net." For any sales department, that's usually the absolutely lowest they will go. And at that point you can forget about any freebies you think you would get for buying a $34k car, and your salesperson will probably send you death threats.

So the lowest possible price to get an 06 S2000 in the month of September are:

28871.50 + 550 = 29421.50, if your car is shipped before 8/1/06
28871.50 + 595 = 29466.50, if your car is shipped after 8/1/06

This is totally legit, to answer an earlier question. Just usually dealers don't stock that many S2ks to begin with, they want to make the most of their investment. But with that number in hand, and when asked how you come up with that number, they know they are dealing with someone who has done their research and will give you a lower price than their previous "best" price.

Good night, and good luck.

During my research/buying experience, it seemed to me that the southern most part of the southern states offered the best published deals which could also translate to the better final deal. This includes- AL, LA, GA, Southern TX and Southern FL.
This could easily have been a part of my imagination and possible deals are available everywhere and probably depends largely on supply and demand.
Maybe more S2000's are delivered to the south which makes for more compitition among dealers. Whatever, check it out for yourself.

Every model year starts essentially without discount. Wouldn't expect to see any dealer selling below 33K before TTL. That doesn't last long, though. If you wait until winter, you can probably knock a couple grand off that.

So, why not buy an MY06 and get a screaming deal right now?

^ I have no idea, but you should be bargaining MY06 price right now BIG TIME, regardless of the dealer cash incentive.
