I drive a 325is, and I drove a M3. But for insurance reasons I decided to keep the 325is. included are pics of my 325is. so you know that I'm not lying...

I know...I had some place do the wax...they messed up...I have since gotten that fixed...

first: Honda calls it a "front-mid engine" for the very reason that the engine is behind the front axle but in front of the driver. The car has 50/50 weight balance so let us all get over it. Who cares where the engine is (personally, I like a long hood), this does NOT define the handling of the car. Porche's 911 is a great example of this: the engine is BEHIND the rear axle, where the bumper usually is, and it handles great, better than a 330Ci, IMHO.

second: American Honda obviously sucks at customer service. I fear the day I ever have to deal with them. However, I still stand in awe that Honda's engineers designed, built, and brought to market such an amazing machine for so little money. The fact that its a no-torque, tiny four cylinder that runs with corvettes and porsches is outstanding. I will not slander these obviously talented people and insult thousand of owners who are part of an amazingly well-tempered community by calling it crap (actually, I LOVE mine ). Blaming the car is like throwing a temper-tantrum, which activity should be relegated to children, 6 and under.

This sounds like something a "victim" would say, someone who needs a little therapy. I don't want to beat you. I want you to get a new engine (ideally). Don't know if that'll happen. As I've stated before, Honda should investigate the engine and try to make you happy, within reason (American Honda is not as open-minded, regrettably). But your attitude leaves me little sympathy, whether or not you are at fault.

fourth: this thread has been (unfortunately) officially hijacked. So to stay on topic: YES! YOU SHOULD BUY AN S2000! unless you want something else..... like a BMW, which case, you should by a BMW, its a fine auto (and has twice the luggage space!).

 

you guys are the ones who caused this to get out of hand...I made my original comments, and you guys flamed me...I defended, and you guys realized your car is a POS so you flame me more. the only issue I brought up that you guys were right and I was wrong...was that the s2000 is a mideng. car. and you said it front-mid engine, so I wasn't totally wrong.

"runs with" doesn't mean that is beats it. If you search around you can find references and even movies to track event where s2000 'shold their own. I wouldn't expect it to beat a corvette built it'll put on a good show. And i'm sure those that race it have fun. Not to prove anything.
And it'll run with them a lot closer than a 330 and your 325 doesn't have a chance. Quit splitting hairs, you can't win that way.

as for a POS? flaming you? OH GOD! You've enlightened me! my car's a POS. get real. Go sue Honda. You'll lose. I'd really like it if you could post the progress of your suit just to prove me wrong, if you can.

If BMW is so great how come the s54 blows up when it goes past 7000? My POS goes to 9000 and doesn't explode. But that doesn't make me think that BMW builds crap. And if i owned one I'd check the oil every 300 miles, just like i do on my 328, and if it needed a drop, i'd put it in.

You need to grow up. You come to a site where people love the s2000, tell them their car sucks, that Honda sucks, that we should all be driving BMW's, and then you cry because you get flamed. Because we don't believe your innocent. You should re-read this post, I don't see anyone jumping out of their seat yelling "BMW sucks!" because that's not what we're about. There are a lot of people here who would give all the help they could. But your arrogant attitude is alienating a lot of people, certainly me.

Go buy a Z4 and go away.

just to let you guys know...I sold my 01 s2000 with 20k and rebuilt engine for 17,500...see you guys on the flip side...
