Wicky: Yes it is good that we were not killed flipping the car at 90.

XV: Lol. I wanted more torque in that car so I didn't have to rev the piss out of it all the time. My friend on the other hand didn't mind doing that.

Check_Six - I know It's just the way it reads..... It's a very good thing you both weren't killed, especially at that speed. That's actually a good point for this thread. From what I've read, the s2000 is one of the best, if not THE best roadster, for surviving a crash. I bet the new Z4 is really good, if not better, also.....

Actually, there's a real downside to S ownership which I should mention:

If you live in snowy climes where you don't want to drive your S in winter, you will die an agonizing death waiting for things to thaw!!! This really puts you at odds with your environment.

Gawd, I love my car!

I've heard that Honda will be coming out with a hard top S2200 with more power and torque. Does anyone know if they goin' to put the bigger engine in the convertible?

'nuther newbie here... I've already pretty much made up my mind to get an S2000, but it's gonna have to wait til September or so. I had an 85 RX-7 for about 5 years, which I drove daily year round here in the Chicago NW burbs, and I absolutely loved that car. Unfortunately the motor lost an apex seal last fall, and repair would be more than the car was worth.

I had been looking at several replacements, the 350Z, the RX-8, and my dream, a 93 RX-7 R1. I had never considered a roadster, but had admired the S2000 at a distance. Well, today my wife and I dropped by a local dealer, and I got to sit in one for the first time, and drive it. Needless to say, this is going to be my next car!!!

I think having had the RX-7 will have well prepared me for the S2000, as far as using such a car year round in a northern clime, and dealing with the unique needs and care that a true sports car requires.

Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself, and I'll prolly be asking questions from time to time as I get closer to making my purchase.

Tom
