I have two questions about the car -

1. how much wind buffeting do you get, can you carry a conversation at freeway speeds?

2. how quiet is it at freeway speeds with the top up?

Buell,

The S2000 is extremely loud. The wind buffeting, per se, isn't all that bad... You sit low in the car, and the door sills are basically shoulder level, plus the clear windscreen blocks the wind a little. But, you do a lot of yelling in this car.

Top up? This car has a top? Seriously, it's pretty "boomy" with the top up. There's very little sound deadening material in the car (weight savings), and the exhaust is quite loud.

Thanks for the info. I'm used to convertibles, most recently a '98 Mustang that my kid drives now. I'm looking for a convertible but I spend most of my time on the freeway and the S2000 might be a great car for tooling around and in the twisties but I may regret it 90% of time on So Cal freeways where 80 is the norm. I'm probably going to wait for the new Mustang. Won't be as fun to drive as the S2000 but if it's as quiet as the '98 then I'll be OK, even driving the 500 miles to visit my kid in school. Either that or the new SLK, that way I'll have a coupe when I want quiet and a roadster for fun. But I will give the S2000 (or S2200) a test drive just to make sure, it is a great looking car.

PROS: IF YOU ARE A TRUE HONDA LOVER, THIS CAR IS FOR YOU, NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!

CONS: SPEAKING FROM EXPERIENCE, DON'T BUY IT IF YOUR MAN WILL HAVE A CHANCE TO DRIVE IT... YOU'LL NEVER GET IT BACK FROM HIM...

A Dodge Viper! Unfortunately, you'll get 'em ranging in age from 6 to 96.
