I've got to agree that anything OVER invoice on an '03 is just plain wrong. Like xviper's experience, they are selling '03's here in Oklahoma new at substantially under invoice. My adivce would be to check around some more --- as our local dealers here will be selling '04's at no more than invoice in just a little while.

Thanks,
Richard

Maybe I didn't make clear the financials involved. They initially wanted $1000 over MSRP. I laughed in their face.

After getting a couple of dealers compeating against each other I got them down to about $3000 belowe MSRP to around $400 over factory invoice (what the dealer paid for the car). So basically the dealer is making $400 on the sale plus their dealer hold back.

I'm pretty sure that the '04s won't be going that cheap until deep into next year unless you've got some sweet connections in the sales dept.

Plug in "Vortech" or "Comptech" into the search feature of this site and you'll see hundreds of threads on this subject. These are the two readily available kits for this car. Both are well known and proven and both produce in the neighborhood of 300 HP to the wheels.
The Vortech has sold for less than $4000.00 US. The Comptech has only just been released with an intercooler (which the Vortech has always had) and should sell for less than $6000.00 US.

People who are buying the '03s now, should not even worry that they might have made a bad decision.. The 04s' are only going to have subtle changes to the exterior, except for the engine, which we need to wait and see what the true performance of a 2.2 can do.. It's not like the '00-03 will be ugly all of a sudden.
Good choices guys..

Man, Honda sure knows how to keep a secret. I can't find any pics or info on the '04 s2k anywhere, beyond the story (unverified by Honda as far as I can tell) that she'll have 2.2 liters. By contrast, I can click on mbusa.com (Mercedes Benz) and get all the story on the '04's, including 0 - 60's, MSRP's pics, colors, and all that. On that site, I can even click a link and order one!

So with the s2k, the choice of whether to buy a discounted '03 or wait for an '04 is a real crap shoot ---- as we don't know what we are waiting for.

Thanks,
Richard
