Boy, that is such a personal thing. Just remember that as "Canadians", anything we get cross border is a real PITA due to customs, exchange rate, brokerage fees, etc. I know. I've spent a lot! What do you consider as an "upgrade"? Many mods are simply "cosmetic".
There's CAI, X brace, cat back exhaust, after market spoilers and body kits, extra gauges, rear speakers, amps, cabin wind control, shift knobs, carpets, etc. - some expensive, some less expensive. Try using the "advance search" feature of this forum (if it's working now) and you'll see lots of threads on these topics and you can decide for yourself by what others have done. Or PM some of us for more specific issues. (Make sure you activate your email notification so you know when someone answers.)

PROS:
You'll feel like one driving this car.

CONS:
You'll become one if you get caught driving it at it's full capacity.

I've gotta tell you guys, I am very impressed about what you have said about the S2000. I currently have a 91 MR-2 Turbo. Before that, I have an '80 Corvette T-top. I love cars, and I love driving. Most importantly, I love cornering. I am no slouch when it comes to driving a car. Inevitably, when people ride with me in the 2, I give them a scare because I drive it in ways most sane people will not even dream about. I just know my car, and how it rides.

That is why I think the S2000 is me, all the way. I have just started looking at them. In fact, I just got back from the dealership. That was the first time I have had the pleasure of sitting in one. I could barely keep the grin off my face. Unfortunately, it will be some time before I can get my own. I WAS going to look at other cars, but I think I found my match From what you people are saying, there is NOTHING else to look at. Besides, ever since I heard one go by me at full acceleration with the VTEC kicking in, while I was waiting to make a left hand turn, I have wanted to drive the car that sounds like a banshee

If all goes well, I can order my car some time in the next few weeks, and get it here in the next couple of months. Man, the waiting is going to suck BTW, does it over heat at all? I live in Mesa, Arizona, and in the dessert at 140F on the road, cars don't fare too well without adequate cooling....After all, no sense spending 33000 on a beautiful car, only to cook it

The Arizona club is quite active the last I looked. You should do an advanced member search for Arizona to find them and PM them with this very question. There's a guy there goes by the username "Tanqueray" (sp.) He can tell you about heat and he's one of the more active guys in Arizona club.

I drove in a few near-100degF days this summer. The temp gauge never climbed over three "bars." I agree with XV though; get in touch with the local guys -- your heat concerns are definitely worth some research. Does it really get to 140degF out your way?? Holy crap!

FWIW, you might want to look into cold air induction as a mod for your S... CAI is pretty popular among the s2ki gearheads (take a look around the "under the hood" forum). Of course, "cold" in your case is a relative term. Best wishes.

Should I buy an S2000? Good question. I needed a daily driver. New job, 100+ mile commute, the BUG(MY68) was not going to cut the drive. I needed RELIABILITY. HONDA! A cheap one! COMMUTER CAR. But, NOOO. I bring my wife with me to Honda and drive away with PWRMKR. Go figure.
