What happened to that thread: "S2ki Lately" and "S2ki Lately v2?" I know they both got shut down. We need a v3.

LOL right.
Well I'm willing to of course give it
a chance. I just talked to my buddy
who's a big time tuner (helped walk me
thru my shit and owns srtforums) and
he claims it wouldn't be a horrible deal.

I guess I just wanted opinions from S2k
owners and a little feel on their reliability.

You could just cut the top off the SRT - make it a convertible and lighter at the same time!

I am looking at a 2001 S2k with 70xxx miles (10xxx more than my srt)
The exhaust on the s2k rattles and sounds like shit.
It has that honda sound that no offense drivers, but I HATE CIVICS.
And the tranny and clutch feel loose and ehh.

My question for you ALL is, is it worth my time?
Doesn't sound like it to me but it also sounds like you test drove an S in terrible condition. I'd suggest test driving a known-good S and then re-assessing. It should be all about the experience in the seat.

I could care less if you hate Civics. An S in good shape shouldn't sound like one.

Is your s2k reliable?
Yes. Aside from a leaky master cylinder for the clutch that had to be replaced, it has only required basic maintenance (oil, other fluids, tires, pads, etc).

What have you found to be
enjoyable
Driving the S. Particularly on good, twisty roads which are not common around Houston -- or Florida from what I've seen of the state so far.

and not so enjoyable?
Not driving the S.

I think putting in a full back exhaust and MAYBE getting a stock tranny on here and racing clutch would fix the problem,
but I need input.
Again, find a better S to test drive. If you still feel "meh" then don't get one. One size does not fit all.

Well in the long run I'd be going from

05 ACR Edition SRT w/
3 in Needswings Downpipe w/ Open Exhaust
(In cabin control)
Mopar BOV
Injen Short Ram
AGP WGA
MAxxfabb 3 in o2 Housing
59xxx miles

to

2001 Honda s2000
Muffler
Ricer clip-together racing seats
.....yea.

BUT I'm also going to get at least
5 grand to play with which sounds
fun to me.
New clutch, prefer stiff/ racing clutch
instantly
(Suggestions?)
New 3in full back exhaust
Found a couple on here for sale
Possibly Turbo once I get a feel
for the car.

AND maybe a bike.

Hee Hee Heeeeeeee

will update once I get back from test drive.
STILL....5 grand on top of a piece...
My buddy made a salvage godly so it's
all about the work you'd put in and budget.
5 g is a straight little budget regardless in
my EYESSSS

I had an SRT-4 prior to my two S2000's it was fully built .60 Trim AGP kit ect ect def a fast car but had a hard time getting any sort of respect in it haha. It was fun spanking domestics and other more expensive "faster cars" but the S2000 is a more refined higher quality machine honestly I would say drive a newer S2000 that has been taking care of and compare.
