Default Things To Look for When Buying a Used S2000?

Well, I got pre-approved for a loan to purchase an 00 S2000. I've been wanting to own one of these cars for a while, and I might finally be making a purchase. I haven't seen or driven the car yet hence the reason for my post but I'd like to have a heads up of things to look out for before buying the car.

This is the description of the car
-Black
-MY 2000 with "02 alterations" (ie glass rear window) as my friend told me (it's his brother's car)
-Clean title
-Red interior
-6 disc CD changer
-Clifford alarm
-extended warranty (almost up, but I will renew)

Obvious things to look for would be the body condition, tires, holes in the top, seats, etc. However, I know some cars have their quirks that maybe result of the car itself or just age/wear & tear. Just wondering if there are any things that I should look out for when inspecting and driving the car before deciding whether or not to purchase it.

Thanks in Advance

Marc

See if you can't get a ride/drive with a friend who owns one that you know is in good shape. This car makes a lot of "unique" noises even when all is well. Get a compression and leakdown before purchase or immediately after, give them hell if it fails. Matching VIN number on every body panel for total of 10, VIN on engine may be off by a couple of digits, this is normal. Good luck.
