Default Used S2000

Hello all,

I have been looking to purchase an S2000 for some time and I am looking at a relatively new 06 S2K. The original owner added some aftermarket parts before trading it in.

K&N CAI as well as Pillar strut.

Although the vehicle has less then 5K miles and looks very clean, I want to make sure that this was not abused. Any advice on how to identify if this was well taken care of / typical things to look for ....

Thanks in advance and look forward to posting as an owner...

Look at everything you would normally check for in a used car. It has barely any miles on it, and those aren't serious performance parts either so I doubt it was abused. Check the tires, oil, wear and tear on exterior and interior...check the lines on the car where the bumpers meet, check condensation in the headlights and tail lights, and anything else you can think of. Good luck

Thanks for the input.

Car has a clean CARFAX and car and tires are all in great shape. My guess is it was an enthusiast who wanted to personalize the vehicle.

If you are concerned about abuse... check the tires.

edit: Nevermind, I just saw that you already did.

tires are usually a good indication of how the car was treated, but since you already checked them, you should be good. I say get it and start having un with it.

Thanks for the responses.

Follow-up question. I was reading through a thread regarding CAI and there were many comments about driving in wet conditions and possible water intake into the engine.

Is this a concern with the K&N system as well?

Also, does this make the engine noise much louder then stock?

Thanks again.
