Those tow hooks were designed as part of their weight reduction campaign. They're 1/3 the weight of the standard tow hooks so they shave about 1-2 lbs each by using A7075 Duralumin.

I mean weigh the options. I can get ASM's standard towhook which costs $500.00, or I can save roughly 2 pounds in weight (according to the scale images shown), and pay $1,900.00 more? Honestly, I would rather just take a big dump before the big race.
It just seems silly to buy a tow hook for basically the price of a NEW Amuse R1 Titanium exhaust. And then to call it "revolutionary"? How is it revolutionary? They saved 2 pounds. Ok, ASM is known for saving weight. Nothing special there. They are using Duralumin. Ok, Duralumin has been around since 1903, and has been used in many different applications since. So nothing new there.
Again, don't get me wrong. I am a fan of ASM. I just think this is taking things too far.

I 100% agree with NoBottle. As you all know, I have had my fair share of ASM parts. I'm all for unique and rare parts, but the price of that seat and tow hook is ridiculous. Just as he said, take a dump before you race and lose that extra 1-2 pounds.
