Seems like all the air bubbles are out of the engine. I also set the valve lash again back to the specs given by Skunk 2 (which are on the tight side of the oem range) and they are still noisy as hell. I posted a video on YouTube below. Later this week, I'm going to let the engine warm up and check the settings once it's hot.

Can anyone tell me what a normal knock count looks like in a 5-10 span?

eww man sounds like a diesel Hope you get it figured out soon, are you using the procedure recommended in the Honda manual? the lifter should feel free when your at the right point, sometimes its not exactly 90 degrees apart. I assume you know what your doing So are you using an knock mic? Oscilloscope?

Yeah it doesn't sound very good. I have used the procedure in the Honda manual like three times and it doesn't sound better, so now I'm going to try with the engine warm and see if that makes it better. For the knock I'm using the knock counter in K-Manager.

Did you put Skunk cams in there? I would seriously start out with OEM cams to troubleshoot what is going on.

Your noise is VERY similar to what my 2.5L sounded like. I don't know why it has such a diesal sound but it just does. I do hear a BIT more valve noise with your's. But seriously, the engine itself sounds NOTHING like the stock one.

Hey Kial, glad you got it bled. I hope my suggestions made it easier for you.

From the video it sounds like there is more valvetrain noise than normal, even for a Pro 2 cam. Two things I would check:

1) The center gear that runs off the timing chain, make sure that the allen bolt is tight and pull the valve cover off to see if there is any signs of that gear or the chain rubbing against the cylinder head.

2) I know a few people having chain slap issues with the S2's K series cams. This could be the case as well....might be the reason why the original owner sold them to you. Never know. I'm with carrera4 on swapping in your OEM cams. Do another valve adjustment and test it that way.

Also do you have your piston to deck measurement handy? Pull the plugs out and see if they have any signs damage. The piston dome may be too high as well.

Take
off
those
cams
PLEASE!

They make noise because they're causing chain slap and damaging the front cover.... Oh, and they also weaken the tensioner and make no real gains over stock.
