i dyno'd my car at DRT with carbing radiator plate, k&n intake, berk tech tp, and t1r 70. put down almost 219. have added regamaster/spoons since.

if i decide to tune probably go with emanage or vafc2. too little money for all the toys tho...

i want a j's header and 70mm tp first, then possible tune, or forget all that and slap on coilovers and call it a day. it's not like i'll be happy with the power unless i'm super/turbo charged. damn, i have a flywheel just sitting here waiting for money for a new clutch and install too. money pit....

the setup does drone and is loud in the cabin. probably a 4 and 5 at WOT

but it sounds so good from outside of the car. very deep. and screams like an f1 car above vtec. hope that helps

Thanks for your inputs. Yea Sleeper, I think you are right. It would be very difficult to be satisfied with the power unless you start spending some major $$$.

It seems like those that got some decient power all are dealing with a noisy car. I guess that is the trade off. =)

Personally, I really want to get some very good daily driveablity. When its hot and the AC is on, I feel like the car just struggles.

I thinking about getting Emanage ultimate and tuning which, I have heard from many helps alot but for about 1200 bucks, I feel like maybe i should just wait for the greddy turbo kit to drop in price and be done.

That way, i can keep the noise level down with stock exhaust and will have plenty of power. Right now I think they sell for like 4K. I'm sure a year from now we will be able to get it for amost 3K.

Sorry for going off topic, but i'm sure others will find the info here useful.

Yup for 9K RPM on 2.2L motor... people get the MY01 ECU cause it runs richer compare to MY02-03 on the top end. Running rich to be on the safe side.
What about an MY00 ECU???

You guys running ap1 ecu have you dyno'd before/after ecu switch to see if theres any gains ?, I ask because have an 01 in my tool box jw if its going to be worth spending the 80bucks to get the immobilizer flashed at the dealer

as far as reliability and how many times you want to rev past 8k, i dunno...

That's a good question, the A/F ratio wasnt recording on the dyno that day, so we couldnt check it to see if that was the issue or not. I am going back next week for some service and may see if I can get a couple of pulls to see if the car has learned to get rid of that or if it is a resonance in the exhaust or what. I really dont know for sure.
I had my car in at Autowave yesterday for some maintainence and had them do a run on the dyno with the A/F plot to get a better idea of the cause in the drop in my curves around 7K. Here is my original dyno done earlier this year when the TracySports header and Fuji Legalis R were installed.

And here is the dyno from yesterday. Look at the A/F spike, is that typical or is it time to get some engine management. It seems there is more power to be made with tuning in this setup (duh). Is it something that a VAFC could do or do I need to suck it up and get an EMU? Thoughts?
