But on the contrary, I think comparing ITB's vs. Stroker kits is a very logical comparison. Just as much as SC Vs. Turbo IMO. Both means of making extra power NA vs. NA as the latter is FI vs. FI. And yes it's possible for power to fall off on stroker kits, but much like ITB's, with a SK your looking for the magical cam/valvetrain combo. I know the IPro 2.5L kit makes power up to 8Krpm when tuned right. They also have said that with cams well past 9Krpms is possible.

MINES13..... your logic is slightly skewed being that you don't DD your car. You haven't had any reliability issues with your ITB's and I think your lucky or you haven't put that many miles on it. I think you're facing the inevitable, but only time will tell. For your sake, I hope the car runs strong forever. Good Luck and thanks for your time.
Well, you would be wrong to compare ITBs to increasing stroke, just as you would be wrong if you were to compare cams to stroker kits, etc. There is only two schools, NA or FI. Boost or don't.

Your build should take into consideration your bore, stroke, piston to rod length ratio, static compression ratio (and dynamic for boosted applications), class rules (racing), restrictors (racing), fuel type, etc.

As I conveyed earlier an engine build no matter how simple or complex is a system of (hopefully) well selected and engineered parts that are installed/messeaged to compliment each other to increase the effiency of the engine. Open ITBs are just a different form of naturally aspirated induction, they can be used with basically ANY NA engine in increase response and effiency. Does not matter if you are running a 4L F20C or a 500cc F20C.

Depending on what you are doing with your 2.7L (or whatever your discplacement maybe) stroker setup you may find ITBs to be completely feasable and complimenting. If you are just dicking around on the street then you probobly don't want to run ITBs. ITBs themselves will not compromise reliability in any way what so ever. If you sucked a rock in your throttles then yeah, you are pretty muched screwed. But driving the car on throttles will in no way hurt the engine. Plenty of Kent induction setups on caterhams have been running strong for years with no issues. Same with some Piper X induction systems on S1 Lotus Elises and Exiges. No problems what so ever. Like I said though, ITBs are NOT practical for daily use in all weather conditions. You WILL have compromised cold start. They WILL be a bitch to tune. They are not for everyone. However if you are hardcore and have the patience will you be rewarded 10 fold with power delivery and response once only reserved for Formula 2000 and Touring car drivers alike. And they just sound ****ing evil.

I agree, Itbs are not for everyone. Cold start is a issue sometimes and can be partly addressed in tuning( injector phasing and such). Also depending on what throttle setup you run the angle at which the throttles open can be a bitt ruff at times. Twms seem to have more of this problem but you can live with it, I do. I usually keep R compounds on my car and only drive it when its nice out. So itbs make sense to me becuase they do not hamper my outlook on driving. Also the way you drive the car changes and the type of conditions you put the car into. Im all about WOT Canyon running. I want the throttle responce because it lets me really feel the car better. The way I can use the throttle helps set the car up into turns. I can say I have driven at the dragon with my open Itbs durning heavy rain, wind, and other conditions.

NO ONE IS SCREAMING YET!!! Just talking. Give me the money and I'll have no issues doing it. It's just an S2000 after all you know. By the time I put that much money into an S2000 I could have bought something nicer.
