I lost about 20hp with foam filters. Back to back dyno pull. WildcardTD reported 30hp I think. Bottom line, ITBs and filters don't get along.
ever try the ole panty hose trick?

well tuning went really good, did around 20 pulls on the dyno.... motor got beat up haha. first time we started with stock 1052 map, idles like a v-twin , my tuner started sync'ing the butterflies and they were a little out of sync.... then he started tuning away. first pull was 204/142 (stock everything else, just exhaust... no headers either ). down the line, my fuel return line leaked... i guess you never know until it really gets hot.... changed the hose and started tuning again. 2.5 hours later, he pulled a 210/146 (196/136 from my previous run with exhaust only) we stopped and called it a day... did couple test drive and all i can say is WOW!!! throttle response is definitely the most noticeable change, hp gain well 14hp not bad. we cant really do a realtime street tuning with real road load coz i dont have built in wideband yet..we will do that soon, so we can get street tuned compare to dyno.

cold start is ok, step on the gas for a little bit and crank for 3 seconds and it starts fiine, idles at 900rpm... sounds and feels like stock! after tuning on saturday i drove it 150 miles with no problem and yeah drove it all day yesterday... just cant get enough of it

yeah those magnetti injectors are awesome for its little form factor compared to RC and it's subtle. i havent really get a chance to look at my logs again and see data after couple days of driving. but i know duty cycle on those injectors are really low.

props to casey at MODACAR for the badass tuning and the guys at modacar for all the help!! also to jimmy@fuji-racing for all his technical advice during my install process... im a happy camper!

So are you running this car and setup as your daily driver?

I would LOVE to pick up midrange like that, I can not imagine how much of a difference it would make.

Where in FL did you get your car tuned?

I'm in sarasota and have had my RX7 tuned (full aem EMS) locally, but when I took the S2K to him and started talking about it he pretty much told me I should find someone who specializes in them.
Sorry I haven't poked my head in here earlier, and haven't read to see if it's already been answered or not, but yes, I've been running this as my DD (350-400 miles weekly) for 6 months now. I got my car originally tuned at 2nrwerks in Tampa, but it's most recent tune came from Stage6 in Jax at a dyno day.

someone mentioned that you need to mod the itbs in order to keep ac/heater, anyone here running the itbs and still been able to keep climate?
Whoever said that was

I have full climate control, and I didn't have to mess with anything except my idle fuel and timing pills to keep the engine from bogging too bad when the A/C compressor kicks on at idle.

Is your AEM EMS (assuming your running one) map based on the MAP sensor or TPS? Logic tells ime it should be better off with MAP, but I have read that some preffer TPS.
mine is tuned MAP, which makes tuning on the fly much, much easier. I usually have my laptop hooked up while im driving, messing with the fuel and timing to get it running at it's best. I think I've pretty much got it licked...until winter weather comes back, then I'll have to load one of my other maps

Are any of you guys running ITBs actually using the car as a daily driver?

My S is the weekend warrior for now, but it is SO much more fun to drive than my DD subaru LGT that I am contemplating selling the suby and driving the S everyday.

Problem is that I seem to modify cars beyond the DD point

I have an RX7 that used to my DD until I got crazy with it.

So does anyone actually DD with ITBs?
every day. I hate driving anything else

hey nate, so you been daily driving that monster with no filters or screens whatsoever in the engine bay to prevent alien stuff (i.e cats, birds) from going in? how about when autoxing? youre not scared of sucking gravels? or maybe cones? HAHA

im thinking of putting a metal screen sandwiched between the horns and tb just to prevent big rocks from going in... or cover every holes in the eingine bay with screen.
