no dyno's yet... i will soon. i will be installing the Fuji Racing header this weekend, so i will dyno with the 80mm horn with that to do a comparison... then put the small horns for more comparison.

i just looked at the fuli website....they dont have the 48mm throttle bodies...only 45mm using 38mm hornes...

so i am a little confused...we are saying that the 50mm throttle bodies are too much and that we need to be looking at 48mm, but fuji only has the 45mm...

but hayward is using the 48mm....

but both are using Jenvey throttle bodies?

WTF mates?!?!?!

^^ From Fuji website, the S2000 has 47mm throttle bodies..I spoke to Fuji few weeks back and he told me on the phone it was 48 mm throttle bodies with Jenvey parts...

Anyone else notice their ITB's running a crapload better now that it's summer?

I've also noticed less carbon buildup on my exhaust tips...hmmm....
you're in orlando, its humid like a mofo, i'm going to go with the more dense intake charge having to do with it...just a guess though

no kidding...it's been 95 degrees and 95% humidity here...when it's not raining, then it's 100% humidity.

Summer is brutal

Unfortuneately like with most aspects of this engine, basic engine theory does not apply. The longer we lengthened the runners the more power we made everywhere, they probobly want to be 160mm long or more. Obviously I am running more cam and a longer stroke but that said, one would think based on your thoery (which I too shared at one point) a shorter runner would provide greater gains up top, this simply did not pan out however. Packaging ofcourse is an issue however. Maybe if someone ran an ITB setup in a Lotus 7 kit they could really prove out the optimal length. We simply don't have enough room in there to go the distance. I think you will find a noticeable power loss with the 50mm length. I will post my dyno graph of the longer horn setup along with horn specs as soon as we figure out what exactly worked best for us.
Not true... theory does hold true... as diminishing returns holds true. Shorter can yield more top end, but don't forget there is such thing as to short and that shorter also yields a peaky curve... which would explain why the longer the runner the more power everywhere.

I'm curious what other basic theories this motor disproves? Not knocking your work... awesome to see R&D behind products!

hey ERL S2000 where are you getting your head work done? Portflow? I think that portflow does the exact same headwork for FI and NA applications and from reading this thread that is not the way to go with the f20c head

cant wait to see the hytech block package with their cams and header

just curious but y did you go with a 50mm setup instead of their normal 47mm IRTB setup? in other words what is the benefit of going with the larger size?
