I also do a seafoam treatment every 3rd oil change, but only thru the throttles, not in the engine crankcase.
i just seafoamed last week thru the throttles....

alejo, my map they used for your car is just the base tune but not the warmup enrichment table. i've played with mine before and have a different engine enrichment. also as what nate said, wait couple seconds to push thee start button after you turn on the key. to give time to prime the rail. mine starts after 2 cycles.

A nice carbon solvent that can be picked up at your local autozone or napa. Stuff works great at cleaning out all the crap from your intake, valves, and combustion chamber.

well my setup started to misbehave at laguna seca. power was down significantly. checked all the sensors, oil and everything looked OK. idle also got really rough.

hooked up my laptop and at idle the fuel air mixture read 7 - extremely rich if the sensor is actually working correctly. Reloaded the MAP and nothing.

My tuner, modacar in livermore, has been pretty much useless - hard to get a hold off, suggests I bring it in, so i ask; if the install/tune is to blame, will you charge? - no reply.

trying to figure out what to do - short of flatbedding the car to a track-guys recommended tuner 100 miles away. drove the car for 1.5 hours back from laguna - not sure if that may have caused further damage if it is indeed running to rich.

any suggestions?

Try this...under the fuel drop down menu go to O2 sensor and disable O2 sensor feedback, that way the car runs strictly based on the fuel map and does not look at the wideband anymore...we have to run Roger's car that way since he still has a narrowband 02 sensor. It sounds like your O2 either burned out or the cable got disconnected/damaged.

Running it rich won't damage anything, but after you get it running right again, you'll probably want to seafoam your combustion chambers to remove all the carbon buildup and change your spark plugs...they're probably fouled up pretty bad.

Thanks, I disabled the feedback and no much changed. Here is a discussion of what I've done so far - https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=521564

Next I'm going to disconnect the map sensor and make sure it is still wired with nothing lose. Fuel pressure looks OK - 40-50 but the car idles at about 600rpm instead of 900rpm and the AFR still reads very rich...

oh wow just saw your threads about your problem...

dont know what to say coz i dont really know what happened. i dont think bad mouthing the tuner is a good idea to solve the problem, your car ran good with power when it left the shop and problem happened after the fact while the car is in your hand. i think they were trying to tell you to bring the car in for diagnostics. there's a lot of challenges with standalone, patience is key.

anyway, it sounds like something happened to the O2 sensor and it's not reading correctly. because aem wideband doesnt even read below 9 on the aem gauge. also check the AEM forums, talk to henry and see what he says.

also i read you said that you loaded the original map and nothing happened. sometimes if the car battery is low or laptop-to-ems connection is not setup correctly, it will not load the map correctly. try rebooting the ems and load up 1052 basemap, and see what happens.... then load your map.

another thing, do a comparison on the WORKMAP and your map to see what could have changed.

the 600rpm idle.... check your idle parameters on the WORKMAP and compare it to the idle parameters of your map when it left the shop. if no difference, then check the physical idle screw, couldve back out. try tightening it and then mark it.

good luck.

Ken, I appreciate the suggestions for a fix but don't lecture me on my opinion of Modacar. When you spend $1,600 for half an install and a tune you expect the work to be done well and you expect attentive customer service in return.

The car not working after normal freeway use for 50 miles and the unresponsives from the shop is not how you run a business. I think the install was decent but something did not work and their customer service sucks. - They need more people.

I know you're about to reply with a 3 page answer but I'm done with this thread. Again, thanks for technical advise above.

turns out the tune had 75% tps - no idea how the initial tune changed or why - it was left with open loop initially but not sure what this has to do with the tps changing from 100 to 75%

Asura tuning changed the tps and adjusted the tune for optimal AFR and idle again. No idea why the initial tune changed - the install was good though.
