Even if you install it yourself, it still going to cost around $5k...Jenvey ITB kit with Pico injectors around $2900, AEM EMS around $1300 to $1450...plus 3 to 5 hours for proper tuning at over $100 an hours...And plus misc stuff..
well yeah i guess if you pay full retail

Man I would LOVE to go ITB but my biggest concern would be pissing off the cops or the locals with all the noise. I like to make some racket but you would hear the car for miles, and when you start killing old people on the side walk with sound, thats a little extreme in my book.

I might still do it someday, If for whatever reason I find myself with an extra 2-3 grand (I would do it on the cheap )
mine are not loud

you gain a lot of midrange power (ap1) w/ ITB'. Makes tha car more useable. The sound of ITB's make me reminisce of oldschool 44 Mikuni's!! Ahhh!!

I don't recommend that from a financial point of view

Well i could either supercharged or turbocharged for around the same price of admission as the itb...And yes i'm fully aware of the benefit of the itb... Throttle response and mid range gains from folks that have them...

well my setup started to misbehave at laguna seca. power was down significantly. checked all the sensors, oil and everything looked OK. idle also got really rough.

hooked up my laptop and at idle the fuel air mixture read 7 - extremely rich if the sensor is actually working correctly. Reloaded the MAP and nothing.

My tuner, modacar in livermore, has been pretty much useless - hard to get a hold off, suggests I bring it in, so i ask; if the install/tune is to blame, will you charge? - no reply.

trying to figure out what to do - short of flatbedding the car to a track-guys recommended tuner 100 miles away. drove the car for 1.5 hours back from laguna - not sure if that may have caused further damage if it is indeed running to rich.

any suggestions?
Alejandro,
So let me get this straight.....Your car was running great for a couple weeks(judging by the post you made on the 13th) but all of a sudden the vehicle started misbehaving.
This is a fact....the tune does not change by itself..something mechanical had to have caused the problems you were experiencing. ITB systems are probably one of the most complicated modifications that can done to a vehicle. They require regular inspections of the linkage, air bleed screws and all related hardware.
As far as your accusations of poor customer service.....they are not valid nor warranted. When you started having problems with your vehicle at the track, I was out of the office(as were you since you at laguna seca) and when I returned @11am I promptly returned your call and tried to help you diagnose your issue. In fact I spoke with you on the phone a few times that day in an attempt to help solve the problem(which was difficult due to your lack of experience with the aem software) and at the end of the day I told to bring the car back and I would fix it for you. You never called back to arrange for me to inspect/repair the car, so I figured you were able to resolve the issue.
If you have a problem with work I have done to your car that's fine.....I have offered to fix the problems...You going on to a public forum board and insulting Modacar and myself is childish and of no merit as the situation you have portrayed on this forum is completely untrue.

Thanks
Casey

Casey,

When I asked you via email if the repair would be covered by Modacar, IF it turned out that the installation or initial tune were to blame; you never replyed. If anyone ever pays me $1,600 without questions you can bet that I will promptly reply to all their emails and calls (and with more than 2 words).

In fact, in my business, I bend over backwards for all my customers. I think you're a good mechanic/tuner but you are way too busy to provide good customer service/quick response.

Alejandro
