FS : Used Vortech SC Kit
#1
What:
- Vortech SC Kit - Satin Finish - used 5000 miles
Price:
- $3000
Parts Missing from kit (still on car or non-reusable):
- 4HS040-050 VTEC Solenoid Gasket (just a Honda part)
- 4HS016-02 Modified Damper Pulley $194.95
- 2A046-510 SC Drive Belt $37.95
- 7U030-016 1/4 Fuel Hose- for FMU "in" 34 inches
- 7U030-016 1/4 Fuel Hose- for FMU "out" 28 inches
- 8F001-342 Fuel Pump $179.95
- 4HS130-026 Oil Feed Assembly $85.95
- 4HS130-036 Oil Drain Assembly $109.95
(I'd recommend a custom setup - brass fittings are too brittle!)
- Also a few feet of 5/32" vacuum hose and maybe some small hose clamps are needed.
Missing parts total $608.75 retail from Vortech. Approximately $500 from superchargersonline.com.
I'd recommend:
- VAFC wiring harness (so you don't have to cut the stock harness)
Pre-assembled (saves you hours of labor):
- SC bracket
- Coolant pump wiring harness
- Labeled electronics box wires
- Powercooler and Bypass Valve
- Manifold vacuum hose tree
Included extras:
- Pre tapped oil pan - there is a broken off brass fitting in the tap hole.Needs to be drilled out and a new fitting welded on by a shop. This is much wiser than mangling your stock oil pan.
- Honda crank pulley removal tool (very useful)
- Honda fuel pressure gauge and fuel rail adapter
The kit is boxed and ready for shipping, however, I don't want to ship outside of the US.
It is about 80 lbs comprised of several boxes.

Nope, it isn't from E-Bay.
Here is my initial installation review.

Even xviper didn't have his SC on yet then. :-)
I could remove the fuel pump and pulley, but it just isn't worth the hassle.
My back was aching for a week after bending over my car doing the de-install.
The Vortech pulley is also far lighter than the stock one and may help performance.
The pulley has two parts, the part that attaches to the crank and drives the accessory belt
and the outer ring that screws onto that and holds the SC belt. I removed the outer ring.

PS - I'll get exact prices for the missing parts from Vortech and respond to PMs later today.

So we are talking $ 3500 for a used kit that I have to piece back together while there is a group buy going on for for comptech new kit @ $4,000. Granted you add a few extras but not enough to entise me. If you are serious about moving this thing PM me with your must have price. For someone who will pick it up and do a cash transation.
