You need a roll bar for all Summit Point events now I think, All VIR events. Beaverun was ok w/o bars but that was years ago.

BSR runs the FATT program that is where I started and now instruct

The ReVolovo is slowly coming back form the grave! Should be ready for the HyperFest/Lemons weekend. While the rest of the team was installing a "new" transmission, I was stuck cross training in Sedona.

Mountain biking really helps with the whole "Look ahead" thing.

Not sure I should do this.....

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.......

Fun stuff!

I've never been on the ground in Sadona but whenever I fly over it take the time to scope it out. Looks awesome from the air but looks even cooler from the ground. Have fun but keep that chin strap tight!

I see.. and what's the verdict on the OEM hardtop? Or does it not matter, a convertible needs the roll bar regardless?

^ Still need roll bar. I finally made the jump to one: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/868...-is-installed/

It's not that bad, although it is a little uglier inside and louder without the interior plastics. But you can still retain most or all of your interior by either cutting the plastic to fit or getting the roll bar with certain options.

Also Rob has a lot of excellent information at his site http://www.robrobinette.com

I am lined up to go to this Hyperfest event in a couple weeks and signed up for HPDE1 which provides me with an instructor...I'm also a newb

Somebody in here correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can do autocross events without the bar? That could be a good way to get your feet wet first.

Depends on the organization and which track. All NASA events require them. I believe Goldenfri has said SCCA will allow oem hardtop. SOME of the groups will allow for non-roll bar on Shenandoah - on a case by case basis (depending on how tall you are and which direction the wind is blowing that day).

Autocross does not require a roll bar.
