2012 MD/NOVA Auto-X Thread
I'm actually playing with the idea of a front and rear set of megan adjustable upper control arms. they fall within the rules of STR correct?
Camber kits, also known as camber compensators, may be installed.
These kits consist of either adjustable length arms or arm mounts
(including ball joints) that provide a lateral adjustment to the effective
length of a control arm. Alignment outside the factory specifications
is allowed. The following restrictions apply:
On double/unequal arm (e.g. wishbone, multi-link) suspensions,
only the upper arms OR lower arms may be modified or replaced,
but not both. Non-integral longitudinal arms that primarily control
fore/aft wheel movement (e.g. trailing arm(s) or link(s) of a multilink
suspension) may not be replaced, changed, or modified.
I haven't had any problems aligning or going out of alignment with my friends and customers cars with the sliders. has anyone here tried or know someone who has these?

lol so I saw. my only question is... how long was that thing cracking for? you can see the final split line on it but you can see there was rust around the line like its been in the works for a while. scary thoughts of what could go wrong.
^just save yourself the headache and don't do it. Go with something proven.
I actually had some J's camber joints new in box that I just sold. I had them sitting around for months and never installed so I just decided to part ways with them. I got what I paid so I'm happy.
One thing I've heard you can do with the SPC joints is install the plates with the slot perpendicular to each other. Supposedly if done right you'll end up with a joint that can't slide out of spec and it still ends up getting you a little more camber than you would on the OEM joints. I was able to get -2.8 on the OEM joints and really only need to be able to get to -3 maybe a tad higher. Only headache I'd say with them is they aren't an easy bolt on part.

"I asked Slava to turn down the sun a little during the 2nd heat because I am too lazy to go out and find a spot for the right lighting, but he refused; so subsequently the first two heat pictures sucked. Josh West was my spotter during the Junior and the 4th heat, so the pictures sucked because of him. 5th heat pictures was taken from Jimbo J-train Newman; so the pictures naturally sucked. "
So our pics weren't as great as they normally were, but they are free pics, and available at the link above.

For the guys running a Gendron bar up front is it really worth it's cost? Do you think there are any other bars that can even compare? I'm wondering if it would be worth my while to ditch my Eibach setup and take a look at one.
VPS_AP1-Yes, I will have the KW V3 for sale soon, but they are still on the car.
Noel- do you still have the other camber adjusters?
Steve- Noel has the same TR wheels I have.
If you go to Tire Rack, you can actually select s2000 STR class and it will show you all the wheels available in 17x9 and higher offsets that fit the s2000 you will see the TR wheels there. I may sell mine if you are interested.
I believe that Noel has the Gendron bar, I have the Saner bar. The Gendron is lighter and I believe it can be adjusted to be stiffer, but since you can change the suspension and spring rates in STR…
Just run your car the way it is and decide from there.

^Probably the the smartest thing. I've removed and installed suspension so many times in the last year that I can get everything off, apart, back together, and on the car in under 2 hours. A lot faster if I'm really motivated.
I have 800, 700, and 600lb springs to play with so I might try a few things with them. If the front sway I have now isn't enough I might actually try swapping the 700lb springs for the 800lb ones and see what it does. Should act similarly to increasing the rate of the front sway. It would actually allow for a little more independence and less likely to lift an inside wheel so it could actually work better in theory.
I'm pretty excited to get out there and play around with the car this year and just have fun and work at being a better driver. I'll do car prep as I go along the way.
