All 3 of us ran the blue Z in BSP during the challenge. Both us Mikes got knocked out, but DJ made it to the final 4. I probably should have tried to drive the blue Z during day 1 (or just more than 1 run total), but oh well.

If ever there was a story of competitive spirit.. the gentleman in the blue 350Z, number 20 I believe, was already getting beaten, and his two competitors' car failed due to a spring shearing the reservoir hose... the guy apparently says "come on aboard" and the three continue the competition all in his car. Now maybe you say "shit, it's not that bad.. prolly a beater 350Z" uhh actually wrong.. it was a pretty blue 350Z as well prepared as any I have seen (on par with Mikes from my lay perspective), and they all dogged that car on two record breaking days with various dudes sweating inside.
WOW.

Ohh...and he stuck around until 5pm even though he lived 8 hours away and has to work in the morning. We were hoping to be able to buy him dinner, etc, but the challenge went on and on and he was ready to hit the road. Mike is a good guy, and he would have gotten no gripe from me if he wished to drive on solo and/or leave. The course was tough on parts and it was VERY hot. We went through 4 gallons of ice water to keep the tires cool (still were too hot).

Luckily I made the challenge on my first run on day 1, but DJ put 3 runs in the car on Sat and another 7 runs during the challenge. Basically over two days that car had 20 runs put on it in 100+ temps.

Yeah. Mike this was seemingly the perfect course for you to have killed the competition. Your sole run was blazing, and I know you were just warming up. Erik K was another of my pics since that Solstice and it's power seemed to be threatening on that course. He has 295s square and gobs more power than the BS guys. Overall I think it was frustrating for many, fun for everyone, but an event that should be tweaked/ shows that it is still in its primacy but one that I truly hope catches on!

I gotta work early too. See you all on Sunday!

I really, really think my Z could have gone in the 59's...

Who really knows, though. Gotta stay in one piece to get a good time.

We're going to do some custom valving on the rears when they go out in a few days.

Chris Lin instructed me at yesterday's Level 2 School. The first thing he said is, "well, I guess I have to teach my rival how to beat me." He was helpful though.

It was great to see everyone in Dover! It was way too hot, but really fun.
Noel thanks again for letting me drive your car; you have put a lot of time and effort on getting the right set up and it shows, the car feels incredible and you drove amazing, however it was a tough event for STR, most ST classes were struggling in PAX. After day one, we only had 3 street tire cars in the top 40; maybe the course was better for R-Comps/ Horsepower cars? Either way it was fun.

Yeah, I agree Anthony. You are always a great co-driver. We will see this Sunday how much butt you kick since you were able to get a little comfortable in my car. Did you change your registration to 191 STR yet for Sunday?

I will leav the car as-is for Sunday, but will experiment with more front bar and slightly higher rear springs for the following weekend where I will have the opportunity to test and tune the two setups...
