Default Four Point Roll Bar (Solo 1 Type)

I'm interested in having a four point roll bar installed to increase safety level for track days. I'ld also like to upgrade to a seat belt harness system.

Any experience or suggestions regarding a quality shop for fabrication and installation would be appreciated.

Thanks!

the options really suck (IMHO). i too would like more protection. my miata had a scca-approved four pointer and it may have saved my skin when i met up with an 18 wheeler on the beltway.

bethania garage (hard dog fabrication) down in NC makes bars for the z3 and miata. they do excellent work and have the capacity to mass-produce bars. if someone had the time, energy, desire and $$, i'll bet that they could manufacture a prototype. i think that the sales numbers would be HUGE. the biggest problem is geeting the rear down tubes past the factory hoops.

good luck.

I applaud you for taking the steps necessary to protect yourself and any passenger while on track. I suggest that you check out the Racing and Competition forum.

Although I ran a custom engineered solution done up by Mitch Piper in Manassas, you might want to look at the Elda Engineering bar.

Thanks for the info/opinions. I'm probably going to have Mitch Piper install a 4 point bar, seat and harness. I have pic's of an install he did previously on an S2000 if anyone is interested.

Do a search, Jackie, and ye shall find....

Since mine is the only one that he's done, my guess is that the pics markxr400 has are of my car. Be forewarned however that my car was a '00 w/ plastic window. I don't believe his existing design would work too well (if at all) w/ the glass rear window. Additionally, anyone over 5'9" (I had some additional in-car testing after the previous posts) need not apply w/ this design. The seats just get pushed too far forward due to the location of the horizontal bar.
