With my size 12's (I think Rob has about the same size foot) it is hard not to over rev. I can easily rev match the downshift, but is harder to release it properly. On the road, it is easy, because of the room for error. On the track, not so much.

I am getting there, but have some work to do before I will be comfortable on turn one at Summit PM, or VIR. ;-)

What's your technique?
idk i just do it. ive been practicing heel toe since i first saw it done on best motoring years ago. i just practice it while driving everyday to the point where i dont even realize im doing it. its def alot easier to do in this car than my last (SR 240 with a stage 3 clutch). for what its worth im 5 7, 135lbs with a size 10 1/2 shoe. the only cars i could never heel toe in was a spec v sentra and a late gen prelude.

Are you using your heel to hit the accelerator? The pedal spacing is so wide I don't see how you could keep your heel properly indexed on the floorboard and blip the throttle. Keeping your heel on the floor allows you to use the smaller muscles of the calf and foot for finer brake control.

Cool mod Rob, but I also find the stock setup very easy to heel-toe. I use my heel on the gas and my toes on the brake

Here is how I do it: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&...Q7dgJqP_2Jq5jTA

sure am. maybe i just have a weird shaped foot but i dont have any problems with angling my foot to reach both pedals.

Good video! That is very similary to the method I use. Although Rob brings up an excelent point about being able to exert more precise brake control keeping one's foot on the floor.

I must admit that when I heel toe for the most part my foot is essentially suspended in the air by the brake pedal, rotating it counter clock wise so as to "blip" the throttle on down shift.

It's almost impossible to threshold brake and blend into a proper trail braking corner using your thigh muscles which is what you're using with your heel off the floor.
