Chris, you seemed pretty set that you weren't going to spend $$$ on an HD player- regardless of format, so I didn't push. The Oppo is an excellent value producing a very good picture.

Your one point of having an extensive SD DVD collection held no water as the HD-DVD player by Toshiba is an excellent upconverting player. Perhaps that is why my copy of Armageddon is excellent. Perhaps it had more to do with the player- dunno.

Btw, I have an A2 right now because my A1 had to be sent to Toshiba. Something went wrong when Aaron and I were downloading the software update. We lost internet connectivity during the process and jacked something up.

Actually, while I was unable to figure out DVD burning on my dad's PC, I was able to burn the DVD (not VCD) on my Mac. It's running now.

Don't you have to already have an xBox which is $399?
