example of visibility of mount:

Dude, your picture shows you being able to see through walls. The other part is the actual width of the mount. In your depiction, you have the mount nearly as wide as the panel. I'll go measure mine.

yeah i know skip... i don't want to pay too much for the electronics, but for some reason am willing to pay for elegant pretty-looking (and working) mounting solutions and furniture ( leg? )... That $350 mount would allow me to pull the TV away from the wall and turn it towards the kitchen, adjust the tilting 0/5/10

yeah it wasn't meant to be to scale or anything, just a quick mockup to show you how you didn't have to have your head pressed against the wall to SEE the mount.

31-32" is the total width of the mount. I believe your set is wider than mine. Not including the speakers that came with the panel, the set is ~ 7.5" wider than the mount on either side.

I'm going to have to double-check the studs, but I'm pretty sure they're 24"...
Generally speaking, only new construction is 24"-on-center.

But it greatly exaggerates what can be seen. Wasn't aware that you needed the mount to swivel.

Added: Btw, you'll never use the tilt. Well, you might just because I said you wouldn't.

not that it matters much, but mine doesn't have speakers on the sides.

mine is 48" wide, giving approx. 9" on either side from your mount... I see your point, man!!!

well, this was cheapest-they-can-do built in the early 60's... And I know from attaching the baseboards that the wall certainly wasn't 16" on center. Heck, the wall with the windows cut into it varies from about 16" to 20" on center.

Even though it would be a major faux pas to use the included side speakers, I mounted the panel with them just in case something ever happened to my receiver.
