Dave, if you want to swap my coil packs into your car, let me know.

Thanks Skip . I'm going to just let The Bruised Banana sit for now. I've purchased an OBDII reader that I'll probably receive by end of month. Then I'll be able to run down the problem via code .

More than likely, it will prove to be coils. To that likelihood, I'm going to purchase sc_highlander's used '02 coils he has for sale. I should get those from him at end of 1st week in February.

Until then...

could it be like a vacuum hose that fell off?
i agree check them. rubber hoses on a 01 (dont kill me dave) i believe will dry rot just liek all rubber. i had that problem on my mustang, when i got the code read with a OBII it gave me a laundry list of things totaling over 500 just in parts. didnt give anything about vacuum, old mechanic told me to check it. .50cent fix. then the PCM died on it.

well since the ap1's are 100 lbs lighter
I do not believe this is true. I believe it is a difference of <50lbs.

even Fastsiik himself kept up with bobby in his supercharged ap1...
so a basically stock s2000 kept up with basically the same car with about 100whp and 40lb/ft of tq at the wheels extra, 4.77 gearing, J's header/testpipe/70mm single exhaust, and an ACT clutch?
